Lots of people, myself included, keep as personal blog as their virtual scrapbook. It's an easy way to share with others and it's a good way to document what is happening in your life. Here are some ideas of how to take virtual scrap booking to the next step:
Scrapblog- this site allows you to take your pictures or videos from flickr or facebook (or any other popular web photo application) and make them into a virtual scrapbook, very similar to something you would see handmade. The application has very neat tools, including stickers, fonts and backgrounds, that are easy to use. Once made, you can host your scrapbook on a number of applications including your blog or facebook, and you can also email it to friends. Scrapblog currently does not offer printing, but you can save the pages as an image and print them yourself. And the best thing....this service is free.
Scrapbook Blogger- invented by a mom who wanted to turn her blog into a physical scrapbook, she did just that. Now you can take that blog you have written for the past year and turn it into a coffee table book. The software allows you to edit, and add backgrounds, and the great thing is that most of work is already done, since the text and pictures will come straight off your blog. Hmmmm, I'm already thinking Christmas gift!
For those of you who want more freedom and have the extra time, there are lots of websites that will make a very impressive photo albums/photo books. Some of my personal favorites are Photoworks and My Publisher. So have fun and keep on blogging!
